Contralto, Winnie Wilson Goree, founded Atlanta Voice Lessons and Singer's Resources in 1996.  Ms. Goree has more than twenty five years of teaching experience. She received her masters degree from Wichita State University. Her teachers and coaches have included Janet Yenne, Irene Callaway Harrower, George Gibson, Vernon Yenne and Walter Huff.   Winnie currently studies voice with renowned soprano, Meredith Zara,  head Professor Emeritus from Michigan State University. Ms. Goree is a member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing and Mu Phi Epsilon. Winnie dedicates Atlanta Voice Lessons  to The Glory of The Lord. 

She has sung with organizations including The Atlanta Opera, as a fellowship award singer with The Choral Guild of Atlanta, and as a soloist with many of Atlanta's largest cathedrals and churches. She has been alto soloist for Mozart's Coronation Mass, Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi Gloria, and many other major works. Winnie has toured as a soloist throughout the United States and in Germany, and Austria. She's sung in Carnegie Hall and at Lincoln Center.  Winnie is alto soloist for the Chancel Choir at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody.  She is active as a performer and is well known in the Atlanta musical community.

Winnie teaches in an atmosphere of joyful energy using vocal literature well suited to the needs of her students.  Winnie uses comprehensive and effective techniques designed to work with your voice and music. She employs bel canto techniques of classical singing that can be applied to whatever you are singing. You will develop an impressive repertoire of songs for all situations. She will help you develop your voice allowing you to sing with confidence and freedom to express the music through your voice. Winnie works with all levels of students ranging from high school seniors to advanced adult professional singers.  Winnie can help you find and maintain your voice with own unique singing voice that you are meant to have.  

Your vocal studies through Atlanta Voice Lessons will help you with all of the skills that you need for your solo voice: placement, breathing, diction, song interpretation, musicianship, and strengthening of your voice, plus range extension.
  Atlanta Voice Lessons is a studio for students to establish a technique suitable for opera, art songs, and  legitimate musical theatre work plus oratorio. We are  located in N.E. Atlanta in Brookhaven - - a couple of miles North of Lenox Square with easy access to GA. 400,  I-85/75 and I-285, and one half mile from the Brookhaven MARTA Station. 

Your voice lessons will be recorded with state of the art equipment in mp3 format for you to download directly from the internet.  You will have access to Atlanta Voice Lesson's comprehensive online library  enhancing your  learning process.   Smart Music has recently been added as a resource for voice students.

Winnie offers a masterclass each month.    Students receive coaching from David D'Ambrosio, one of Atlanta's best  coach-accompanist,  and from Winnie along with comments from other voice students.   Your friends and family can sit in on  the masterclasses.    Masterclasses are held in a newly built  rehearsal hall at least once a month.  Renowned soprano Meredith Zara  will give a masterclass in January. 

Winnie has recently added Smart Music to enhance the learning process for voice students.  This interactive, computer-based practice system helps students get better faster, and makes practicing more fun.
